MacDock icon

Your Dock stays put.

MacDock stops the macOS Dock from jumping to another display every time your cursor brushes the bottom of a screen. Pick a display once from the menu bar and forget about it.

The Dock stays on your chosen display. On other screens, the edge that would pull the Dock across is held a couple of pixels away. Everything else works normally.

Pick a display

Choose your Dock display from the menu bar. MacDock moves the Dock there for you and keeps it there.

Practically free

Native code with no polling. It switches itself off completely when there's nothing to guard.

Smart about layouts

Handles stacked and side-by-side monitors, hot-plugging, and a Dock on the bottom, left or right.

Why does MacDock need Accessibility permission?

To keep the cursor off the Dock edge, MacDock adjusts mouse movement events as they happen, and macOS requires Accessibility permission for that. MacDock doesn't read keystrokes, screen contents or anything else, and it never connects to the internet except to check for updates.

How do I install it?

Open the downloaded DMG, drag MacDock to Applications and launch it. Grant Accessibility access when asked; the menu bar icon lights up once it's active. Turn on Start at Login from the menu to keep it running.

How do updates work?

MacDock checks for new versions once a day, and you can check any time with Check for Updates… in the menu. Updates are signed and verified before they install.

How do I uninstall it?

Turn off Start at Login, quit MacDock from the menu and move it to the Trash. Optionally remove it from System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
